Yannik Nov 05, 2018 04:15PM GMT

Hello,

i noticed xml got more data vs json. Fx. wind speed name.

My first intention was to stick with standard - json, but know im unsure, better use xml because i get more informations?

Hello,

Yes, now XML have wind speed name, and json – haven’t. But you can calculate it on your side if needed, these tables are in free access

All parameters and their details you can find here: https://openweathermap.org/current#current_JSON

Hello Pavel,

thanks for your answer.
Where can i access these tables you mentioned?

So there are no drawbacks with xml vs json? Will they be supported the same way in future?

Hello Pavel,
ok got what you mean there. What about precipitation? In json its last 3h (mm i guess?), in xml its ... ?

So there are no drawbacks with xml vs json? Will they be supported the same way in future?

Dear Yannik,

In XML precipitation value is: “precipitation.value” https://openweathermap.org/current#current_XML

At the moment this modes are little different. Maybe they will be more unified in new release.

Hello Pavel,

sure, but for what period (measurement time) is that xml precipitation.value?

Ok sounds like xml will be equally supported in future, thanks.
