Request limits in free plan

Eric Sep 11, 2017 12:23PM MSK

Dear OWM,

I would like to know what is the requests limit on the free plan regarding the Current weather data?

In theory, i would say as it wrote on the website:

60 calls per minutes, is there the only limit for this plan, that would mean:

60 calls for 1 minutes * 60 minutes * 24 hours = 86400 calls per day for the free plan?

Cheers and many thanks,
Eric.

Hello Eric,

The requests limits is only specified per minute.

The treshold for the free plan can be found in the personal account (if user is registered).

Thanks.

Hello everybody,
could you confirm me that widget-1 or widget-11 displays only the current weather in a free version ?
In the code source, calendar is only available for "today".
Thank you by advance for yours answers.

Hello,

Yes, exactly. These widgets provide only current weather data if user has free plan.

Thanks.

Hi OWM, great API you have!

Please translate how the threshold is interpreted into daily calls. If the threshold says 7200 on member page, is that the daily call limit? It is not clear for planning a budget based on daily active user, so a detailed answer on threshold and limits, and corresponding pricing would help immensely.

Thank you

Hello,

The treshold is the same as (Weatehr API data update) in this tab:

http://openweathermap.org/price

Please double check.

So the daily limit for a 60 call/minute threshold is 86,400, correct?

This is what my personal account says:

//
Threshold: 7,200
Hourly forecast: 5
Daily forecast: 0
Calls 1min: 60
//

What does 7,200 threshold mean? And what happens when that threshold is reached?

Thank you

It is 7200 seconds = 120 minutes = 2 hours

http://openweathermap.org/price (Weather API data update)

When it is reached the data from weather statiosn refreshes and is provided in API.

Thanks.

There is no daily limit.

The limits are specified only per minute!

Calls 1min: 60 – this line represents it.

Please neglect other lines!
