No Past3HrsRain (3H) field in Current Weather API Response for Davie, FL

Manish Jain Jun 08, 2017 12:11PM UTC

Hello,

I am a developer and I have created a mash-up in which I do call your Current Weather API (free version for now) for Davie, FL (USA) location (coordinates - 26.0650 -80.2320) . I do store all your response data into my database. I observed it was moderate and heavy rain there in Davie, FL in past 2 days, but your current weather API response never given [3h] field (Past3HrsRainAmount) in response. Any reason?

Here is the link which says there was a huge rain in the city:
http://miami.cbslocal.com/2017/06/06/davie-drenched-following-more-than-3-inches-of-rainfall/

Can you please let me know about this issue? Due to this, my calculations etc are happening wrong.

Thanks,
Manish Jain

Hello Manish,

Thanks a lot for providing this info.
There are sone cases when preciptation data is not returned in the API.

It depends on the duration of weather conditions or weather station that did not measure preciptation values.
